"There are several of the major or minor hotel chains in Whitecourt, but I always stay in the Green Gables. It is friendly, clean and has a great restaurant attached. I have been going there for over 15 years and the quality is consistent.

"This has got to be the best motel that we have ever stayed in. Clean, spacious, friendly people. Easy access to the rooms and restaurants. Very reasonable price, lots of parking, great for handicap people. You can double, king, or queen size beds. Kitchenette also. Hi speed internet and cable"

"Great place to stay. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Didn't worry about leaving our motorcycles in their parking lot. Nice place to find in a town filled with chain motels. Plenty of eating choices nearby. Lana at the front desk was awesome."

"What a surprise when we drove around back of the restaurant. There was the motel and we were warmly greeted, given a room close to the front lobby and everything was wonderful. They even helped with extra ice for our cooler in the morning and no charge. Thank you ladies.....and the meals in the restaurant were very nice as well."

~ Would Stay Here Again

"Not a planned stop over. We got grounded due to weather in our path, so had no choice but to stay in Whitecourt. Asked around and everyone I talked to said Green Gables Inn is really nice. Just checked in. Nice staff, very quiet, very affordable (not like taxi ride from the airport) and CLEAN! Hard to come by nowadays. I would stay here again for sure!"

"Every time my husband and I go to Alberta, one of the first things we do is find a place for a steak and egg breakfast. The restaurant here, served by far the best steak and eggs breakfast. Everything was prepared exactly how we asked. The service was great and the restaurant clean."

~ An Unexpectedly Pleasant Stay

"We arrived in Whitecourt just before dark and, due to some car troubles, ended up staying overnight instead of continuing on to Edmonton. After striking out at a couple of other locations, we went to the Green Gables Inn and hearing that they are an entirely non-smoking and non-allergenic hotel, booked a room without even asking the price. The receptionist was pleasant, courteous and helpful (with a shower cap), the room was very clean, decently appointed and quiet, and there was lots of hot water. The only suggestion for others is to consider turning the heat off (if you don't mind it a little cool at night) as the fan in the wall unit is quiet loud when it turns on. A very pleasant and welcome surprise after a long day."

"The Inn was above expectations. Front desk staff on both shifts were very warm and friendly. Our room was very clean, comfortable and had all we needed for a quiet night's rest and more (fridge, microwave, coffee perk and TV). The breakfast provided in the morning was sufficient to get us on the way without fuss - muffins, fruit and beverages. The decor in the main lobby and room is tasteful and reminded us so much of PEI. There is a restaurant adjoining the hotel and the food is great! Prices are reasonable. We had an excellent stay and will go back next time we are in the area.

"We stayed at Green Gables 2 nights in June/July. It's a "motel style" inn on Whitecourt's main highway. The rooms are set back, so highway sounds are minimal. Our room was basic, with 2 queen beds (we were travelling with a child), but had everything we required. A fridge, stove, microwave, kitchen sink, dishes and a few cooking pots. The bathroom had a tub and shower.
Everything here gives you the impression that the owners take pride in the establishment. There is a small assortment of pastries, coffee, fruit and juice available in the foyer each morning. (This is NOT "breakfast," but is more than we expected at this price.) Cookies are in a jar nearby.
 
If you're travelling through Whitecourt, this would be a great place to stay overnight, or for a few nights. We did not try the restaurant at this facility, but we understand it has great reviews and extended hours."
